Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards Highlights 2006

This Prop 4 campaign ad was created for the Austin Film Society. Proposition 4 passed, granting $31.5 million toward the improvement of facilities at the Austin Film Studios, Zachary Scott Theatre Center, the Asian American Resource Center, the African American Resource Center, the Mexican American Resource Center, and Mexic Arte Museum.

This piece became part of the integrated campaign for Prop 4 and was shown at fundraising events, Alamo Drafthouse screenings and posted on campaign websites.

This piece was created for the Sundance Channel's Iconoclasts series premiere party featuring Quentin Tarantino and Fiona Apple. The piece includes interviews with the two honorees, the cast of the Friday Night Lights series including Scott Porter, Adrianne Palicki, Connie Britton and Zach Gilford as well as G. Love and the Iconoclasts series co-director Bruce Sinofsky. The event was co-sponsored by the Sundance Channel, Grey Goose Entertainment and Condé Nast.

This piece was originally created for the Austin Film Society as a video greeting card from the Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards 2006 to Governor Ann Richards who was unable to MC the awards that year due to her illness. After her passing, the piece was re-edited as a tribute to Governor Richards.

Pursuit of Happiness takes a futuristic glimpse into a world where technology has taken the place of psychiatric pharmaceuticals. With the flick of a button a self-medicating society can now program their cell phone or PDA to change their moods at will. But as with any "feel good" remedy ignoring the problem does not always make it go away.

The La Negra Celina music video was produced to support the first single from Michael Ramos's album, Loteria De La Cumbia Lounge. This Grammy nominated musician has played with bands such as The Violent Femmes, Paul Simon, Patty Griffin, The BoDeans, The Rembrandts and has toured with John Mellencamp and most recently Los Lonely Boys. The CD debuted at Number 7 on the CMJ New World charts and the single and video are in wide release in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Japan.

05minute Productions was hired by Richard Linklater, Anne Walker-McBay and Bruce Curtis to produce, direct and edit segments for Richard Linklater's $5.15/hour HBO pilot. These included the complete Fandango commercial spot and jingle (composed by Michael Ramos) and several mock corporate videos. The pieces were featured throughout the HBO pilot episode and used as background.

This piece was developed with Rebecca Campbell of the Austin Film Society and covers the Austin regional premiere of Quentin Tarantino's film, Kill Bill. It was produced as a video thank you letter and sent directly to Quentin.

The piece includes messages from Harry Knowles (Ain't It Cool), Tim McCanlies (Secondhand Lions, The Iron Giant) and Kill Bill star Gordon Liu.

Inspired by the television series, Hotel, Charles Gillpatrick evangelizes the powers and duties of a dedicated hotel front desk clerk to a new trainee.

This script and the subsequent short won Top 10 in Chrysler/Hypnotic/Universal Studio's Million Dollar Film Festival.

Members of 05min Productions were flown to Manhattan to work with a New York production crew to complete the short film from pre-production to post in ten (10) days as part of the competition.

This short film advanced to the Top 10 of the Chrysler/Hypnotic/Universal Studio's 2003 Million Dollar Film Contest after being selected as a Quarterfinalist (Top 25) for that contest. It was also selected as a finalist in Project Greenlight's 2003 and 2004 Top 250 Director's Contest and was accepted into the Texas Filmmaker's Showcase 2003, the Austin Film Society's SXSW Showcase 2007, the Austin Film Festival, Deep Ellum Film Festival, the USA Film Festival, Edgeworks Short Film Festival and screened at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and is currently being broadcast on the Movie Network in Canada, the Rialto channel in New Zealand and on the Austin Music Network.

Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards Highlights 2002

This pilot episode is based on Maureen Serrao Cole's KidChef website and cooking classes. The show focuses on making cooking fun for kids while giving them an appreciation for healthy eating. It also emphasizes cooking as a science, math and art all rolled into one.

Selected clips from the pilot have aired on the Food Network's Fun With Food program.

Bo Derek hosts this compelling documentary which is currently in negotiations for voiceover by Donald Sutherland.

Chimfunshi is the story of the world's largest Chimpanzee sanctuary. Owners Sheila and David Siddle have devoted the last twenty years of their lives to the care of abandoned and abused chimps. The documentary explains how the wild chimp population is currently threatened by extinction due to hunting, medical experimentation and deforestation.

This documentary was produced in conjunction with Flying Pig Productions and Flathead Films. It is currently in post-production.

This 31-minute short was shot in 8 days and edited in 21 days.

Couches was 05min Production's first short film. It was written, cast, shot, and edited in 5 days to make the deadline for the Independent Film Channel's 20 Dates contest. The rules stated that short film submissions were to be five minutes or less about dating. Couches won the contest and was aired on IFC during October, 1999.

Couches has also been screened at the Austin Film Festival 1999, was voted into the Top 20 on Anteye.com and has been broadcast on the Austin Music Network.
